Gloomy day

Just passed by my old elementary svhool. A group of children were blocking the street in protest.
Half an hour ago I had a talk with my who believes that the hoodies are secret service and/or american agents. It would be funny how the right government takes of leftist psychosis’ if it was not already tragic. His biggest feat, though, was the future, the real possibility of state bankruptcy, of his much needed pension not being paid.
Yesterday at lunch time I was amazed to hear colleagues of my age, my peers, to chew and spit the same conservative mantra I am sick to hear for days: what are the children not at home reading or playing PSP, the same 400 trouble-makers are always to blame. Fuck! How old are these people? They had me fooled that they were in their late 20’s.

I was just talking with my cousin, outside my uncle’s hospital room. He is a progressive, open-minded person. And yet he too was mumbling something about how well organized this whole thing is and how much it «smells of america».
So what have these incidents been? A mayhem spree of some modern day Vandals? A rehearsal for something bigger, massive? Or just one of the last spasms of a rotten, dying society?

I think people around us are in a constant state of denial. Denial that all this they are leaving is the reality and some isolated incident. A phrase keeps returning in my mind. A phrase from John Doe, in 7:
«You cannot just tap people on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a hammer. Then you will have their full and undivided attention»
